On March 20, 2020 Elian Zeitel's debut album 'Honig im Tee' was released on UNIT Records. The jazz singer's album contains eleven pieces. Eleven pieces that clearly indicate the origin, the influences and interests of the composer and also clearly make an aesthetic and musical direction audible. Together with her sextet, Peter Schärli (trumpet), Florian Weiss (trombone), Lukas Derungs (piano), Mischa Frey (bass), Sascha Frischknecht (drums), worlds of sound are created that range from massive density to chamber music clarity, supplemented by slight grooves.Elian Zeitel Frei (* 1993 in Olten) studied jazz singing at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where she graduated with honors in 2019 with the Master's Performance Jazz. She studied with Prof. Susanne Abbuehl and Prof. Lauren Newton. The master’s degree took her two semesters to immerse herself deeper in the world of jazz at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki in 2017/18. She is currently studying vocal pedagogy at the HSLU. She teaches singing and is active in other jazz bands as a 'sidewoman'. Elian loves working as a duo with pianists or guitarists. In this form it appears regularly at weddings and similar festivities.
